Assistant Coach: Jason Reinhart
Jason brings experience from both playing and coaching fastpitch softball to Team Alberta. He currently is Vice-President and coaches within the Fort Saskatchewan Sliders Minor Fastball Association. He also serves as a Minor Delegate for Zone 5 within Softball Alberta. In the summer of 2023, Jason was selected to coach Zone 5 in the Alberta Summer Games where his team finished 4th. Although Fort Saskatchewan is a relatively new fastpitch organization, Jason’s coaching resume may not be adorned with numerous high accolades just yet, but the U19 team he coached in 2021 achieved notable success by earning a silver medal in both the GEMSA league and the provincial championships.
Jason’s journey in fastpitch started at the T-ball level, and to this day, he remains an active player. At the age of 10, he wandered into competitive competition in the fastpitch thriving community of Chauvin, AB. Playing for the U18 team was the only option given the town’s population size and this is where Jason truly developed the love of the game in those years, as his statistics were less than stellar! Throughout his playing career, Jason has participated in numerous Provincial Championships, Western Canadian Championships, three ISC world tournaments, and four Canadian National Championships with his most recent appearances at the ISC’s and Nationals in 2023.
Jason’s journey with Team Alberta has now come full circle, transitioning from a player who competed in the 1997 Canada Summer Games to his current role as an assistant coach for the 2025 Canada Summer Games. He firmly believes that creating a positive coaching environment is essential for attaining team success and building enduring friendships within the fastpitch community. With great excitement, Jason eagerly anticipates working with these young athletes, driven by a passion to share his knowledge and experiences as a player/coach with the next generation of fastpitch players.
