ALBERTA SUMMER GAMES

2026 Alberta Summer Games | Strathcona County

Coaching Applications Open!

Softball Alberta is now accepting Coach applications for all Zones for the 2026 Alberta Summer Games. Interested coaches must submit a “softball resume” that includes a complete coaching background (include other sports than softball if applicable), NCCP number and 2 references from their softball association.

Chosen coaches must have (or are working towards obtaining) NCCP Community Softball Trained status. Each Zone team must have at least one male and one female who are Community Softball Trained. All chosen coaches/chaperones will be required to submit a Police Records Check. The max number of coaches/chaperones is 4, a minimum of 2 must be female.

Eligible athletes for the 2026 ASG are female players born in 2011 or later, and are a player on a team at the U15 B, C or D or lower levels in the 2025 season.

Please send your completed application or questions to kim@softballalberta.ca. The deadline for applications is March 31, 2025.

Am I eligible to try out?

To be eligible for a Zone team, a player must be registered through an approved affiliation process for the current softball season to a team at the U15B level or lower and must confirm their residency and citizenship. Any female players who meet the affiliation requirements and are under 15 years of age prior to January 1 of the year of the Games are eligible. The minimum player age is 13 as of the first day of Games competition.

Why is the Alberta Summer Games for U15B players?

Softball Alberta would like to continue taking part in the Alberta Summer Games. Most Zones cannot field an ‘A’ caliber team and if we do not have at least four of the eight Zones represented with Zone teams, softball would be removed from the Games. The pool of U15 B players is much larger across the province and should result in all eight zones being represented.
