Any registered team who wishes to enter their team into the 2012 Provincials must have the Team Entry Form and payment in to Softball Alberta prior to the JUNE 1st deadline.

Any team entering a category that leads to a Western or Canadian Championship must also fill out a “Letter of Intent.”

Softball Canada and Softball Alberta are pleased to announce that the Junior Men's National Team coaching staff has extended invitations to 27 male athletes to attend a Selection Camp which will take place from August 13 to 17 in Cambridge, Ontario.

'The coaching staff is looking forward to the selection process in August and we are excited to start working with our young male athletes as we prepare for the ISF World Championship in Argentina.

Following the Junior Men's National Team selection camp in August, the coaching staff will identify 17 players who will represent Canada at the International Softball Federation (ISF) X Junior Men's World Championship, which will take place November 1 to 10 in Parana, Argentina.

The following ALBERTA athletes  have been invited to the 2012 Junior Men's National Team Selection Camp:

2013 Canada Summer Games & U21 International Softball Challenge

For 2013 the age requirements have changed and will now both be U21 (born in 1992 or later) events. Please keep checking the website for more information and for when tryouts will begin. The Boy's U21 International Softball Challenge is going to be held in Saskatoon, SK on July 9-14, 2013 and the Girl's Canada Summer Games will be held in Quebec where dates are still to be determined.

2012 Rule Change Year

Remember that 2012 is the age change year for Softball in Canada.  Juniors (U23) will now be U21 and Midgets (U19) will now be U18 (in the 'A' and 'B' classifications for Softball Alberta).  Softball Alberta will maintain a U19 category for the 'C' and 'D' classifications for Provincial Playoffs.

Calling All Fast Pitch Softball Teams in Canada

The 2012 Canadian Fast Pitch Championships are open to all teams for registration regardless of classification. Each Championship will feature teams in both an “A” category as well as a “seeding” bracket category (B, C, Tier 2 and House League teams) whenever possible. The championship format will vary depending on registration numbers. The A category will use the same format as in past years and follow the Special Operating Rules within the Softball Canada rulebook. Click here for more information.

2017 Canada Summer Games

Softball Canada and Softball Alberta are extremely pleased to announce that the Canada Games Council has selected both men’s and women’s softball for the 2017 Canada Summer Games program. The sport of softball has been part of the Canada Summer Games since 1969, but the men’s competition was not selected for the 2009 and 2013 Games. Thus, the men’s competition will return to the program in 2017.
